Amie is the owner and a stylist at Gilded Opal. She got her start doing hair in Anaheim, California in 2008. She has wanted to be a hairstylist since she was 9 and loves nothing more than working her dream job. She has been at this salon since 2013 and purchased and rebranded it into Gilded Opal Salon in early 2018. Amie specializes in balayage, blonding, creative coloring, bob-length textured cuts, and long layered cuts.   She has a natural eye for creativity and envisioning beauty and what look will be the most flattering for her clients. She loves to travel just as much as she does doing hair, and always has something in the works. Her favorite aspect of being a stylist is making her clients feel completely confident in their appearance.

Alea started her journey behind the chair in 2009. She was born and raised in Florida where-she learned the art of wielding beach blondes and precision bobs. 

She has been in Portland the past 7 years and considers it to be her forever home. Alea is always willing to give style advice and get creative to bring your vision to life. 

She assures to establish a relaxed, gender inclusive environment where anyone can feel comfortable expressing themselves aesthetically. 

She loves to do all things color related from a natural looking balayage to vivid fashion colors. She is also known to give a great shag and mullet. 

Because Alea is a huge animal lover she promises to live by her values and use only cruelty-free products. 

She loves nothing more than being able to work alongside her friends in a career that never feels like work at all.
